Overview

GpXfer is a utility app that transfers GPX files between Android devices and USB-connected GPS devices. This privacy policy explains how GpXfer handles your information.

The short version: GpXfer does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Ever.

Information We Do Not Collect

GpXfer does not collect, process, or transmit:

Personal identification information (name, email address, phone number, etc.)
Location data
Device identifiers
Usage statistics or analytics
Crash reports sent to external services
Any data from the files you transfer

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only external service the app may communicate with is Google Play for purchase verification, if applicable.

Permissions and Their Purpose

GpXfer requests the following permissions solely to perform file transfer:

USB host access -- to detect and communicate with connected GPS devices over USB
Storage access (Android Storage Access Framework) -- to read and write GPX files that you explicitly select on your device

These permissions are used only at the moment of transfer, at your direct request, and for no other purpose.

Local Log Files

GpXfer stores diagnostic log files locally on your device in app-specific private storage. These logs are:

Never transmitted off your device
Not accessible to other apps
Used only for your offline local troubleshooting
Removed when you uninstall the app

Internet Access

GpXfer does not require an internet connection for any part of its core functionality and does not make network requests.

Children's Privacy

GpXfer does not collect any personal data from any user, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, the new version will be published at the same location with an updated effective date. Given that GpXfer collects no data, material changes are unlikely.
